Camp 2011

It has been a while since I blogged, but with camp this past weekend I have so many thoughts.

As most know, the ALIVE Bible camp that I started took place this weekend.  There were mostly college kids that were there for the classes, but I feel like everyone still left with something.

Somethings that really stuck with me had to do with language and relationships. Our class on movies/language went from taking 45 mins to over an hour. But it was a very beneficiary class. The thing that I feel like most people don't realize is how much their words effect others. The thing that I have noticed the most is "that's what she said". It is a simple line that is used by many to get a simple laugh, but what are we really doing? We are taking a line that someone said, that was an innocent sentence (most of the time) and turning it into something perverted. To make it worse we are causing EVERYONE around us to think in the same manner. Some people may not even go to the perverted in their minds, but because we said the one line we are corrupting their thinking into something bad. Our words do not just effect us and our service to God, they effect those around us as well!

The other thing that I don't think college kids think enough about it relationships. We are so quick to jump into something and want things to move fast because we want to be close to someone. We don't take the time to realize that crossing the line from friendship or casual relationship to a physical relationship or a serious relationship that we are crossing a line with a person that we can never undo. There are regrets that I have from doing that and things that I can never get back, but I know that we can move on thanks to the grace of God. But I feel like too many people want to be close to someone so bad that they forget to stop and think and cross a line not realizing that they can never go back to the way it was. Sure you maybe friends again but it won't be the same, I can guarantee that. You cross the physical line (in any sense) and it changes everything.

The last thing I have been thinking a lot about is the fact that I have always known that younger children look up to the older children. But I never realized that by starting this camp that I would be looked at in a different way by those my age and those older. I have put myself into a position to be judged by others and be held in higher standards by others. I do not know if I am ready for that pressure, but it is something that I am having to do.

Just a few thoughts from camp :)

2011 is here!

So all in all my mom, sister, and grandma had a great visit up here! We went and took the Broyles with us to ICE and SNOW at the Gaylord. Everyone had so much fun!

We ended 2010 with a big party that most of the people from Eastside attended. There was a ton of food, games and basketball.

This week has been a pretty good one! The Broyles were sick on Wed, but that just made for a great lazy day/ snuggle day!
Thursday I went out to the Fosters farm and held/bounced Clair for a while and then with help from Lorie and Alli and April made awesome decor for the living room.

We also had a singing at the house Thursday that went great and then Fri I went to work and got to spend the day with Holli and baby Alivia.
And now we have Natalie over for a sleepover!! So much fun this week!

End of the Year!

It's been a while since I posted, but that's what happens when finals come. The semester wrapped up well and I am glad it is over! Only 2 more (and a summer one) til I am done with my bachelors. I cannot wait!

I got to go home for about a week and that was great! I spent time with friends I havent seen in a while and with both sides of the family!

The break home went by fast, but that was probably because I was going nonstop from Jacksonville to home, to Tampa and back to Jacksonville, but at least I got to see the Longstreths in Tampa! Always a plus!

We decided to drive half way back to BG on Christmas Day because of the huge storm that was passing through and then we drove the rest the next day between church. My family is now back in BG with me for the week which is good. I am getting to spend much quality time with my grandmother, which I could not be happier about! We spent yesterday evening cooking together. And she has gotten to experience snow for the first time.

But life does not stop just for company, I have had the Broyles 2 days already and I did not realize how much I missed them. Ava almost fell asleep on me at Chick Fil A while Carter was playing and I felt like I was in Heaven. I have also already been back to Hopscotch, but I got to see Holli (my boss) new baby and play with baby Gavin....I would call that a good day!

SNOW EVERYWHERE!!

Well it started snowing last night and has yet to stop!

This is this AM before leaving for church.

And this is how it is now.

The roads are CRAZY right now! We drove too and from church going 20 mph, but we made it! And we heard a great sermon by Alex Day about patience, which if nothing else Carter teaches me everyday I keep him haha.

Hopscotch is closed tomorrow! Which and good and bad haha. I do have the kids tomorrow though and I plan on spending the day playing in the snow with them!

Oh and I took Harmony out in the snow. I wanted her to experience it and she now hates me haha

We'll see how this goes...

So, I have been reading a ton of blogs that I really love and I figured why not give it a try. I'm not making any promises on how often this will be updated, but I'll try my best. This should be a great way for people back home to keep up! :)

This week has been a  crazy one! Finals are technically next week, but I had most of mine this week. So that was a little stressful. I also picked up more shifts at Hopscotch since we had someone quit but I didn't have the Broyles as much as usual so that helped some. BUT this week started off great, by going out to the Foster's farm and getting to hold Claire while they did some work. (This pic is about a month old, but she is still just as cute if not cuter)

Shelly was great to us college kids today and provided breakfast for whoever wanted to come! And it was delicious!! And to top it off she has the cutest puppies!!
This one was so cute!

Then the girls and I decided we wanted to do our Christmas tonight so we all switched gifts! It was so much fun! I got pj pants, fuzzy socks, and an adorable scarf!! I love my house mates!!
That is all I can think of for now! Harmony is adjusting well to being in KY and seems to love it! She saw snow fall for the first time with the door open and a snowflake came too close to her for comfort, so needless to say she took off pretty fast!
